Microsofft Word on my laptop has been popping up with an error message about "Product Activation Failed", saying that "this product has not been activated". The program has been on there for a very long time and it never used to do this until after microsoft office word product activation failed free cleared the computer when it got a bad virus, and we had to change the hard drive. It still allows me to use Microsoft Office though, I just have to click "Close" but it's still annoying.
Why is this happening and what can I do frfe fix it? Well years ago I must have installed Microsoft Office on to this laptop from a product key I purchased. But I actigation longer have that product key anymore so what do I do? It must have started happening when I had someone fix my computer and they completely wiped out everything is my guess. Was this installation an educational version? Did you update the computers OS and then this started happening? MicroSoft considered that their mlcrosoft should only activatiion a life of about six years so they stop supporting it and make it harder to operate especially if your upgrade the operating system. This is so the can keep buying their products even if they still do the job. Many corporations have adapter this six year end of life policy.

After successfully installing and activating the Volume License Microsoft Office Standard on my computers for over a year now, all of a sudden 2 of them is stating that "Product Activation Failed".
Since my network is not connected to the Internet, I choose option2, over the telephone. In the activation wizard window I can choose the language, but in step 2, the installation id has this, "[installation id]", that's it, no numbers. And step 3 is greyed out. Also another thing, I do get an error code 0xb sometimes when I open up an office app. How do I fix this?
It just started happening yesterday, over a year with activated office, and now it's stating product activation failed. Did a windows or office update create this error? I get updates from our wsus on our network. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and same error. Please help, shoots, thanks in advance. This thread is locked.
